Discover what makes Pleo dream!

Where did I go?

2008 has been crazy, during the year a lot has happened.

Early in January I left my 3 year long job for personal reasons, and began to focus on finding a new less stressful job.

I proposed to my fiancé on her birthday last year (Nov 20th), and we are planning our wedding, Jan 18th 2009.

My fiancé and I purchased a home in January, and have both have moved.

I started a new job that I really love, then they laid me off 5 months later.

My car was in a parking lot fender bender. Don't ask..

Video: Bonez and his Thorocotomy

A Peek from the latest video.

We have finished shooting, after post and rendering we will have the "Bonez and his Thorocotomy" video online. So while you wait here is a Peek

Another Bonez Surgery in the works...

Since the previous two videos have proven to be so popular we have decided to make a series. Starting with this weekend's episode "Bonez and his Thorocotomy", we will shoot a weekly episode and detail each piece of the Pleo dinosaur. So far we have discovered 1 of Pleo's 6 processors. I have also heard rumblings of a replacement battery pack for Pleo that can make him run twice as long! Stay tuned for more updates.

Pleo's Camera CPU

So Pleo's cpu that runs the camera is a Phillips NXP LPC2103F

This CPU is a 32 Bit ARM CPU with 8k of RAM, 32k of flash, 10 bit ADC, 2 UARTS, 2 I2C busses, and SPI & SSP.

The pinout for the CPU

Now that I have the pinouts I can ohm out the J105 pins to the CPU and see what we get.

The Pleo Surgery Video....

Pleo Undergoes Surgery...

Well you knew it would happen before too long. Pleo would be taken out of his
skin.
Pleo has 3 parts to his skin. The head piece, the torso peice, and the tail piece. If you look closely
on a Pleo you can see where these pieces have been glued together.

So the first thing we do is unscrew the "optical toes".

Investigating Pleo's USB Port

As we all know Pleo has a USB port. I have some utilities that let me see what is going on with USB. Here is a dump of Pleo's "Device Descriptor".
